never to forget

I remember those mornings

that I swore to you

never to forget

your name is clear

tho’ I don’t recall

the last time we met

in that small room

bare floor around a tiny rug

flower ancient wall paper

window to the street

our second-hand bed

& what did happen

to those bed sheets

did they leave with you?

like the love the loving

the tears the anger

promises made & torn

yes I remember those mornings

before all of that

wrapped around each other

against the world

before real life came in

ripped us away

made us exes yesterday’s lovers

has beens & gone
