a better way

back road sinner

out on country roads

finding hidey holes

abandoned quarries

scrapes side of a dirt track

blankets driftwood fires

nights staring out to sea

these became our own spaces

having no place of our own to go to

restless kids having fun

only ways we knew how to

people talking about us

back road sinners

saying we were going wrong

yet never pointing out

a better way
