You get to a place

You get to a place
where turning off the TV
is the only thing to do
Emmet Grogan said
‘if there is something they want you to know
you will know it’
doing this feels like a disconnect from the world
but it isn’t
it is a disconnect
from the madness
the hell that is others
the manufactured outrage
mindlessness that numbs
how can it help to know
who is behaving badly & how
so you turn off the TV
listen to music
talk with friends
read some
live a little
which will always be both the loving struggle
& the answer to why we are here

(Emmett Grogan, Digger, author: Ringolevio)
